Chester Zoo – Grasslands Project
Cen QS measured the BOQ for this circa £15m Traditional Build Contract project at Chester Zoo.
The work consists of a new Grasslands Zone inspired by a variety of African habitats, from scrublands to deserts, characterised by large open landscape habitats containing multiple species.
This incorporates a number of existing & new animal habitats all set within a reconfigured visitor route. The scope includes extensive balanced Earthworks, site re-modelling, drainage, site services & infrastructure and a new Restaurant Building overlooking a water hole and Savannah.
The large number of animal habitat buildings & aviaries include new homes for animals & birds including the Giraffes, Dik Dik, Ostrich, Zebra, Ungulates, Aardvark, Vultures, Lovebird and the Meerkats
